A three-member panel has been formed by the Pilibhit district magistrate to investigate the illegal felling of 32 mango trees in a green belt. The panel, consisting of the divisional forest officer of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and the city magistrate, will examine the status of the land where the trees were standing. The felling of the trees was done without proper permission and bypassed the necessary field survey report and no objection certificate. A complaint has been filed and legal action will be taken based on the inquiry report.
